Arlene is an experienced therapist who is passionate about the integrity of the marital relationship. Her commitment to helping couples build a solid foundation for strong and loving marriages and resolve conflict in a manner that accomplishes lasting change, is evidenced in her work with both married couples and with singles who are preparing for marriage. In addition to providing individual and couples counseling, Arlene also writes and conducts workshops on the topic of marriage. Her pursuit of professional excellence and empirically validated treatments are integrated with foundational beliefs of Christian faith.
Arlene is also an EMDR-trained clinician and has experience in treating adolescents and adults who present with Post-Traumatic Stress, adjustment-related issues, depression and anxiety. Her clinical experience includes work in the community, private agency settings, as well as a psychiatric treatment center.
Arlene earned her M.A. in Counseling from Regent University in Virginia in 2011. She founded The Amazing Love Initiative, a biblical-based marriage ministry, and developed and authored Amazing Love, the curriculum and couples workbook for couples counseling. She co-authored a peer-reviewed publication on The Relationship Between Forgiveness and Emotional Well-Being, and has presented professionally on the unique culture of military families.
